PyMol animation in a nutshell

Here I summarize my PyMol experience to create illustrations and animated movies of biological macromolecules. I suggest the basic steps to create a biomolecular animation and provide several examples that involve the most commonly used operations. These tutorials are free to everyone and do not require any commercial software. They teach how to make movies yourself – artistic, fast, and flexible to your ideas.

  • Tutorial 1: Basic principles of animation. Using PyMol to animate structural superimposition of biological macromolecules. With an example on the alpha/beta-hydrolases.
  • Tutorial 2: Overview of protein structural and functional features using Pymol animation. With an example on the glutathione S-transferases.
